I remember looking HARD at the ocean knowing to look hard bc I felt it was the last time for something. Meaning the last time I took a hard look at the ocean at the time was the last vacation I had with my parents before they divorced. This song was playing on my CD player when I was about 15/16. Means everything to me

I'll never know the tie in with the skating rink thing. Though the song means so much to me for so many reasons.

On the off chance you actually still listen to this song… I miss you more than anything, Catherine. I'd do anything to experience talking to you for the first time again. I don't think we'll ever be close again. But I feel like a kid in love when I think of you. Its 6am and my only wish is to talk to you, but I can't. So I'll listen to this song, and hope tomorrow will be a better day. But I'll never stop thinking about you

This song makes me think of people I don't see or talk to anymore. That makes me quite sad

I was 16 when this album came out and it changed the way I knew music forever; beautiful instrumentation and meaningful lyrics create an aural orgasm

I was spiraling after a fallout with someone I thought was my best friend.
This song helped set me back on my feet.
    Thanks, James and friends.

    Natalie Portman's favorite Shins song.

The song is called "Kissing the Lipless" … they could've left it at that and it would still be one of my favorites.

Goddamn, so nostalgic. This was a major fixture for me in high school. Listening to it, I am instantly transported to that time, it's 2004-ish and I'm 16 again. Soundtrack of adolescence, and it continues to give well into adulthood.

RIP Huddy. I still have this EP that you gave me so long ago. It's been through the paces the past decade, scratched and scarred but still tucked into my cd book ever reminding me how much I miss you buddy. I hope you found some peace.
